As an import company, Raymor (also known as Richards Morgenthau & Co), gave Americans the opportunity to purchase world class finery regardless of where they dwell. Created by Irving Richards, an influential pioneer of 20th Century design, Raymor worked to distribute emerging designers, pottery, tableware, furniture and other home accessories. Items distributed by Raymor were marked with a tag reading "modern in the tradition of excellence", and this #vintage set is no exception!
Born to French and American parents in Corsica, Charles Levier (1920-2003) showed promise as an #artist at a young age. He enrolled at L'Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs at the age of 17, but his early career was cut short at the start of WWII. After his service in North Africa, Levier's career took off and he began showing his work in the United States and France. In 1955, prominent collector Dr. Lilienfeld took notice of #Levier, and catapulted his career to new heights.
