William Preston - Civil War Confederate Major General, US Congressman. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, he was elected as a Whig to the Thirty-second and Thirty-third Congresses, serving 1852 to 1855. At the outbreak of the Civil War, he was the Ambassador to Spain when he resigned and returned to his home state of Kentucky in 1861. He served in the Confederate Army, attained the rank of Major General and was appointed the Minister Plenipotentiary Confederate minister to Mexico.

Peter Sellers - British Actor. He is best remembered for his role of inept French police Inspector 'Jacques Clouseau' in the "Pink Panther" series of films (1964 to 1982). The last of that series, "Trail of the Pink Panther" (1982) was made after his death, using film clips and unseen footage from his earlier "Pink Panther" movies.
