In the late 1880s, a Frenchman named Homère Clément started in the Caribbean #rum business. Today, the name is synonymous with rare, high-end rums. But one bottle towers over the rest. Clement XO is a blend of old rums, including the vintages of 1976, 1970, and 1952. The blend is then aged for three years in American and French oak barrels. Glenmorangie Lasanta Scotch: this whisky has spent ten years maturing in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before being extra-matured for a further two years in Oloroso Sherry casks from Jerez in Spain. I prefer the Quinta Ruban to the Lasanta.
