2nd Lt Ed Shames, 506th PIR Company E/HQ 2, 3rd Platoon. Enlisting in September 1942, Ed Shames was to become one of the most respected officers in the 101st Airborne Division, a stickler for detail he always got the job done, and brought his men home. He received a battlefield commission during the taking of Carentan in Normandy, and joined Easy Company in July 1944 as a 2nd Lieutenant prior to Operation Market Garden and the Battle of the Bulge.

Handsome and intelligent, he trained at the Philadelphia School of Industrial Art to become a commercial artist, but the war intervened.

George Luz (1921-1998) Fought in Normandy, the Netherlands, and the Battle of Bulge.  Luz is credited with keeping Easy Company morale up with his humor in dire times.

William "Wild Bill" Guarnere in a World War II-era photograph. Mr Guarnere was a member of Easy Company in the 101st Airborne Divison, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Regiment, Easy Company - more famously known as the "Band of Brothers." Mr. Guarnere who earned a Silver Star and two Bronze Stars in the war also lost his leg during the Battle of the Bulge. He died on March 8, 2014 at the age of 90.

David Kenyon Webster. Delayed his studies in English Lit at Harvard to join E Co., 101st Airborne Division. Later became a writer/reporter for LA Daily News & Wall Street Journal. Also studied marine life, eventually writing "Myth and Maneater: The Story of the Shark." Interested in sailing, surfing, skin diving, social justice. Disappeared while fishing in 1961 & declared lost at sea, aged 39. His memoirs from the war were published posthumously. Played by Eion Bailey in "Band of Brothers."
