This is a photograph of architect James Renwick, Jr. in front of the St. Augustine Light Station in the 1880s. He lived here while working on the restoration of the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine and designing that building’s bell tower. He is more famous for designing St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York and the Smithsonian Castle in Washington DC
"St. Augustine Lighthouse Beach Early Morning Color" by Kathi Shotwell. A classic sailboat rests at anchor on glassy water, birds begin their daily flights, the lighthouse greets the morning, and the rising sun casts a subtle pink light over it all. It's a perfect dawn at Lighthouse Park boat beach, Salt Run, Tolomato River, St. Augustine, Florida. Copyright Kathi Shotwell, all rights reserved.
