Darden Bridge over St. Joe River-Only known Truss Bridge in St. Joseph County. Built  in  1885  to  span  the  St.  Joseph  River  at  LaSalle  St,  it  was  initially  known  as  the  "Four  Mile  Bridge". It  was  floated  down-river  in  1906  to  Darden  Road,  having  been  judged  unsuitable  for  the  downtown  traffic  on  LaSalle. It  was  closed  to  cars  in  1970  &  then  closed  to  pedestrians  and  cyclists  in  1985.

The new bridge will carry the trail from Niagara Street over I-190 an onto a large overlook. Pedestrians will get an expansive view of Lake Erie and the Niagara River. The trail will then lead south down to LaSalle Park.

Park Hours:  7:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Playland Park, South Bend IN (1890s-1961)  1890s-1961. Had a roller coaster, the Jack Rabbit; a 100xx165 ft swimming pool; a casino; outside racetrack for cars, motorcycles & horses; a ballroom, later also used as a roller skating rink; a fun house, a maze of mirrors; a "Canal of Venice" with floating gondolas; & a merry-go-round. Was between Ironwood Drive and Holly's Landing Restaurant. The park extended as far south as Lincoln Way East.
