Car 80 - 1984 Porsche 944 - The last race of the season - The Watkins Glen 24-Hour and the best finish yet for the Porsche - 6th in class. My co-drivers included Larry Moulton, Steve Clifford and Dr. Bill Seare.
Car 14 (there were a couple of cars I bought and sold that I failed to take photos of - Car 12 was another Sprite and 13 was an MG Sports Sedan). I bought this 1961 Chevrolet wagon from Streator Chevrolet in February of 1970 as a tow car for the Sprite race car. Used it for one race in Phoenix. The generator went out on the way home and I "salvaged" one from a closed wrecking yard in Payson Utah early in the morning.
Car 43 - 1973 Ford wagon "woodie." This replaced the Duster and became our tow car for the Alfa Romeo race car. This photo was taken just before it burst an AC hose creating a monstrous cloud of smoke in downtown Salt Lake.
Car 102 - 25th race car - 1990 Mazda Miata - Texas World Speedway 2-15-92 - Third of 11 victories in SCCA National competition in 1992. This was my most satisfying win. Spun in turn one on the first lap by Randy Pobst I had to work my way from last to first on a course I had never driver before.
Car 11 - My first true race car! - 1960 Sprite - As purchased on 9-12-68 for $200. This was just an old street car but had a good chassis for conversion to an H/Procuction race car. This was where I spent the money I received from the sale of the Fiat 8V!
Car 67 - 18th race car - another silver 1978 Mazda RX3. With RX3s becoming hard to find we felt more comfortable having another spare car in case we lost one of them to a claim or accident. Purchased this car out of Florida on 4-21-81.
Car 22 - 1969 Pontiac Safari wagon. Another tow car purchased 4-4-1972. This one got me in trouble when the speedometer stuck at about 55 MPH and the CHP pulled me over for 70 in a 55 zone. I'm sure he had heard that one before! But in this case it was true. The speedo really was stuck! I swear it!
