Bergamasco Shepherd Also known as the Cane da Pastore Bergamasco, or the Shepherd of the Alps, the Bergamasco’s coat has a wool-like texture that causes the hair to form felt like dreadlocks. Bergamasco Shepherd - compete in dog agility trials, obedience, showmanship, flyball, tracking, herding events, herding instincts, trainability, exhibiting basic herding instincts, trained to compete in herding trials, used in Italy and in Switzerland to herd cattle. The cattlemen just let the dog go and the dog brings the herd back to the stable without human supervision, often photographed herding sheep, but they are actually superb cattle dogs, who can perform in a mountain environment.
