Tricky Questions - This app provides a refreshing concept, as well as some fun gameplay. In essence, it’s one part word game to another part Pictionary. It will present you with a series of word-based cards, as well as a prompt. You analyze the pair together to figure out the intent. Once that’s done, you simply tap the photo that completes the thought. We found a lot to love within the application’s central idea. Click the image for our full review.
MyGiftster - puts the power of Giftster.com in the palm of your hand. For those of you who have never heard of the site before, it’s basically an online social network where you can create and share wish lists and gift registries with friends and family. Never buy a duplicate or boring gift again! The value can't be beat and avoiding the hassle and frustration of double gifting or poor choices is a huge bonus. Remember, MyGiftster isn’t limited to holiday use; use it all year round!
Friend Fiction - This app is one of the most fun applications for hacking out prose we’ve seen on the iPhone. It’s a unique and engaging way to fabricate strange tales with your buddies, and all without spending a dime. One player starts a chain by selecting a topic, as well as word limits for both the post and individual turns. Then, players begin by adding portions of the story turn by turn—a poetry technique called the “Magnificent Corpse.” Click the image for our full review.
SayRoom - This is a cool app that allows you to respond to social media happenings using more than just written word. That’s right, you can actually use your voice! It allows you to post audio responses to your favorite social media happenings. While this seems like something that’s fairly out of the ordinary, it’s actually a pretty cool idea once you warm up to it. One cool feature we really liked is the ability to add audio hashtags to your reaction. Click the image for our full review.
FriendPop - This amazing app is something truly out of left field with a unique approach to all those Facebook friends you’ve spent hours and hours accumulating. TinyVox Pro - This is a professional voice memo app for the iOS platform that sports a really slick, polished layout. It works wonderfully, has clear-cut crisp graphics, and offers an array of excellent social media sharing options that are really impressive and set it apart from the other recording apps in iTunes. The audio quality is great and the playback features rock. A definite huge upgrade from the generic iOS default recording app. Very cool and highly recommended!
TapStartup - In this app you’re the boss and it’s your job to keep your workers focused on the task at hand. Those lazy bums may try to nod off. Give them a tap and get them back to work, pronto. Only workers who are wide awake can make you any money, and you lose money on snoozing bodies. You also want to make sure each worker has an adequate amount of rest, fun, and treats. We found TapStartup instantly addictive and a ton of fun. Look no further for the next title to get wrapped up in.
WeeWaa RockOn - This is an incredibly fun game for iPad and iPhone. Can you help your WeeWaa defend its village from angry Groompas? For the sake of all that’s cute, I sure hope so! The graphics are absolutely stunning, and Oslo-based musician Cukoo created one of the catchiest soundtracks we’ve ever heard in a game. It's a great game for children and adults alike. Roboz - This app creates an engaging and unique world for your children (recommended ages 5-10, though we still had fun with it) to explore. They drive a robot-piloted cart around one of the two tracks—either New York or London by simply pulling the cart left or right. It’s all great fun, and with simple controls, clever layout and plenty of challenge we have no doubts that your child will be entertained to the utmost. Click the image for our full review.
Pashadelic - This is a cool new app and website that focuses entirely on photos of landscapes, architecture, nature, and landmarks. In a digital world filled with pictures of food, pets, and anything else you can think of, an app like this is a blessing. As with any social app, you have to create a Pashadelic account before you can use it. You can log into the app with Facebook or create a separate account. If you love taking great scenic photos and sharing them, this app is for you!
ReRave - This is a fun and challenging music game for iOS. It puts a new spin on the music game genre. The concept of the game is to tap various symbols on the screen at precise times to match the beats of songs. Some symbols require single taps, while other times you’ll be required to complete more complicated moves based on difficulty level, but it's always extremely accurate and responsive to input.
