BB King is known as the "King of the Blues". He was born in Itta Bena, Mississippi and moved to Memphis as a teen playing on Beale Street. He is a part of Tennessee's history and now owns BB King's Blues Club & Restaurant on Beale Street.

Rest in peace, #BBKing. We owe you and your guitar more than we'll likely ever know. A great light has gone out.

King passed away on May 2015 at the age of a legacy that few can match, not only as a terrific guitarist, but also a fine humanitarian.

B. B. King, nee Riley B. King, born 1925 in Itta Bena, MS, taught to play guitar by preacher uncle; blossomed during WW II Army duty into blues guitar.  Nicknamed B. B. King by manager of radio station WDIA as 'Beale Street Blues Boy' shortened to B. B. King.  Joined the angels in Blues Heaven on May 14, 2015.
