Opened in 1836, the Missouri State Penitentiary developed a reputation in the 50's and 60's for being one of the most violent prisons in the states. It was decommissioned in 2004 and since then several of the buildings on the grounds have been demolished. Since the demolition started, stories of paranormal activity have increased.
