#Hugenot mirror with two frames, and reversed profiles in #native #wood #marquetry (ashwood, walnut and boxwood...). Decor of acanthus foliage and oval reserves, and hearts in the corners. These mirrors were used by Protestants to hide their Bibles on the reverse. Hearts symbolize the struggle (peak) and the union between the community (rounded inward). Vintage mercury glass.
