Picked these Jamaican berries or gasagase hanu (poppy fruit--the texture is like wet poppy seeds) as they are called in Kannada this morning on my way to pick up the milk packet.

The guy who sold this said this was star fruit.  Don't know whether it's correct.  But I have tasted them... many years back... the sourness will make you jump out of your bones...you gotta have it with dollops of salt (and a bit of chili powder helps).... ah...the good old spicy days!

Scientific name : Artocarpus heterophyllus Big sized fruit, could be bigger than your shoulder width. The bigger it is, the more yellow and sweet sacks you'll find inside. Just don't mistake them with the white tasteless ones :D
