John Sutton(1777-1863)-The company was founded in 1809. He named it the 'house of sutton' of king street. First supplying corn.

Martin Hope Sutton- In 1832 he was joined by his sons Martin Hope Sutton ( 1815-1901) and his other son Alfred. Later in 1837 they encouraged their father to launch into the Flower and Vegetable seed trade.
