Holly Jolly Egg Nog: Heat milk, cloves, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and cinnamon in a saucepan, until the mixture comes to a boil. In a large bowl, combine egg yolks & sugar & whisk together until light and fluffy. Whisk hot milk mixture into the eggs. Pour mixture into saucepan. Cook stirring constantly until thick. Don't bring to a boil. Strain to remove cloves & let cool. Stir in Bourbon (optional), cream, remaining 2 teaspoons of vanilla. Garnish with fresh nutmeg & a pinch of cinnamon.
