Athyrium filix-femina 'Victoriae': The pinnae (leaflets) criss-cross up the frond and the tip of each frond is crested. As the tip continues to lengthen all season, it starts to look more and more like fringe with each passing week. The texture is so unique, it is bound to set itself apart from all of the other plants in your shade garden. This #fern forms an upright arching clump similar to the species. $150
Dragon's Tail Fern (Asplenium x ebenoides) - A naturally ocurring hybrid between A rhizophyllum and A. platyneuron, this small fern has a wide range throughout much of the Eastern US. It is evergreen and equally at home in the terrarium or the shady garden where it is hardy to zone 4. The narrowly triangular fronds are deeply toothed and then elongated out into a narrow 'tail'. Reproduces vegetatively by producing new plants from the tips of the frond. Very unusual and easy to grow!
