Line- the different lengths and widths placed by each other composes an image of a woman's figure. By placing lines at various distances from one another, the image gets more structure and gives the illusion of a body. A variation in width gives more dimension to the image and illustrates a sense of realism.
WEEK 7, Eduardo Richard Kilroy London Graphite on paper Kilroy focusses his details the face and body, where there is a suggestion of the garment using simple silhouettes and colour. Realistic details on the body are created using a balance of tone and shadow. The garments are suggested with simple lines or shapes of flat colour as opposed to the details in the body. I enjoy this contrast between the simple and the detailed as it gives life to the body in the illustration.
