March 18, 1967 – Pirates of the Caribbean opens  The last attraction that Walt Disney designed before he died was a water boat cruise called Pirates of the Caribbean. Three months after Walt died, it opened in Disneyland's New Orleans Square. Pirates of the Caribbean is best known for its carousing pirates who fire canons, burn buildings and sing “Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me).” But it will always be remembered as Walt Disney's last hurrah.
