WEST VIRGINIA: GREAT APPALACHIAN STORM OF NOVEMBER 1950 dropped heavy snow from Nov. 24-30, 1950. In Parkersburg, W.V., snow totals reached 34.4 inches, setting a Novermber record. 57 inches were measured elsewhere in the state. 160 deaths were reported in West Virginia alone.
