Brilliant: Lost in translation de Sofia Coppola (2003),one of my top favourites. I love this image of Scarlett looking out over Tokyo..this film perfectly captures many of the sensations one has as a Westerner in Japan.
Tokyo 1965 The clash of cultures - Japanese faces in western garb against the American movie poster backdrop... the public poster affection and the real life lack of warmth and relationship... Henri Cartier-Bresson - Makes your eye move around the picture -
John Wayne, arguably Hollywood's most loved Wild West hero, rode many trusty steeds during his long, successful career on the silver screen. Seen here as Rooster Cogburn in "True Grit" (1969) Wayne was aboard a horse called Dollor, who stayed with him through subsequent movies "The Undefeated", "Rio Lobo", "Chisum" and "The Shootist".
