In September the two stone lions were removed from their perches for repair. They were in place for 138 years, and will set in the lobby of the building on their return.

Oct. 14, 1925: Pittsburgh was “a city resurrected, a city crazy with joy, a baseball city,” declared the Pittsburgh Press on the day of the seventh and final game of the 1925 World Series. Outside Forbes Field’s gates, a crush of Pirates fans gathered hours before the opening pitch.
