The results of the 79th Annual DownBeat Readers Poll are in. Blues icon B.B. King was elected into the DownBeat Hall of Fame, and he topped the Blues Artist or Group category. Pat Metheny, who was elected into the Hall of Fame by readers in 2013, topped three categories this year. The Pat Metheny Unity Group, whose album Kin (Nonesuch) won the Jazz Album category, was voted top Jazz Group.
