Roanoke River Lighthouse - Edenton, North Carolina. This is the last square-sided screw-pile lighthouse in America. Built in the 1880's, it once sat on pilings in Albemarle Sound marking the entrance to the Roanoke River, near Plymouth, NC. It was rescued from slated demolition and purchased by the Edenton Historic Commission. It will undergo restoration and will be added to the historic waterfront of Edenton, NC.
