Fontenot, Company F, 8th LA Infantry, enlisted March 30th, 1862 Opelousas, LA, residence Ville Platte, LA POW captured Rappahannock, VA,November 7th, 1863, exchanged March 10th, 1864, mortally wounded July 9th, 1864 and left in the enemy's hands, died August 5th from pneumonia (wounded at Frederick, MD).
