The deadly El Reno tornado touches down under a mesocyclone that was almost on the ground. This tornado quickly became multi-vortex, then transformed into a large wedge before further intensifying and growing into the widest tornado ever measured at 4.2km wide.

6/22/2007 - Tornado determined to have been an F5.    This wild tornado photo was made by hubby's co-worker, MCpl Gauthier who lives in Elie, Manitoba. He shot this series of pictures from his home window on June 22, 2007. This rare tornado was an F5, and destroyed four homes. Thankfully, no one was hurt.    You can see the same tornado photographed from a different location here.
