Underwear through the ages: New exhibition charts the rise and fall of the humble bra
I've read a while ago this article about the evolution of woman underwear during XX century, well mostly from 1920s. And I do like this picture a lot, 'cos you can see a big part of the undergarments modern women (those who abandon their corset, not all of them did, you know?) wore during 1920s: slips, stockings, girdles and all.
A novelty bustle made to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee celebrations contained a less useful device. It was fitted with a musical box that played 'God Save the Queen' each time the wearer sat down.;
