I picked this book up at the library knowing absolutely nothing about it. The novel has a lot going for it: compelling (if not totally likeable) characters, multiple interweaving story lines, a witty narrator. I would have liked this book more had it not been so overtly political; I feel like the author went out of her way to make strong statements regarding gay marriage, illegal immigration, and radical environmentalism. Conclusion: good book, just not necessarily for me.
