A major theme in Sergei Hovsepyan's artwork is the condemnation of war, its nameless horrors and brutal slaughter.  His art plays a key role in his quest to make people aware of their involvement in "events that shake the earth."

"Paramount". Dinh Q. Le weaves images from American films about the Vietnam War, including Apocalypse Now, Indochine, and Heaven and Earth, using a traditional grass mat weaving technique learned from his aunt before he and his family fled Vietnam for the United States. Much of Le’s work is about identity and memory of his Vietnamese culture and his American upbringing...

"Persistence of Memory #14" (Dinh Q. Le continued) ...Growing up in America, the only things Le learned about Vietnam were filter through a Western lens. He wonders how much of what we know about Vietnam is truth and how much is learned from American movies about the American experience in Vietnam where the Vietnamese are only decoration. By weaving images of Vietnamese themed American movies together using a cultural technique Le is calling into question our collective memory of Vietnam.

"It's Only a Lie" is a 3D painting with 30 plastic sheets hung with images of photographers. The viewer navigates about the figures to reach a final focal point. Tran Trong Vu is discussing the lies inherent in propaganda, the viewer is "accepting a lie [by entering the space] in order to approach other lies [the focal piece]" according to Vu's website. Just as we all tend to accept the idea of Vietnam we are given from the media, we too accept the circumstances Vu gives us in this…
