Scorpions, World Wide Live*****: At the end of the day, I will look back on this album as probably my favorite of all Scorpions' albums. I will also most likely consider it to be one of my 20 favorite live albums of all time. I don't know what it is about this album, but it captured all that is best about the band and was really the first time I ever really paid close attention to them. This album has excited me for a very long time, and it still manages to do so. Great live effort. 8/10/16
The Samurai of Tyrakawa are an elite band of warriors who give up their old lives to become part of an ancient order of warriors. They stick to their own Code of Honor and are often found among the courts of Lords as advisors or bodyguards.
Scorpions, Tokyo Tapes (1978): You know you had a special year for live albums when this one is somewhere in the middle of the pack with a 3.71 song score. And that's not meant as any sort of hit on the band or the quality of this album. It's good. It's great. It's just that any other year might find this at or near the top of live releases in terms of quality. But it just had to go up against all those other awesome efforts that I listened to yesterday. 8/21/16
