“I HEREBY ACCEPT AN UNDESIRABLE DISCHARGE” 1951 Military officials frequently interrogated soldiers to force a confession of homosexuality. Many soldiers confessing to or suspected of homosexuality agreed to sign a statement such as this one, accepting an undesirable discharge and acknowledging loss of his or her veteran's rights.
