Jamestown, Va 1690's.  Keith Rocco.  A delegation from the Nottaway tribe paid its annual tribute to the Royal Governor of Virginia each March. His home is the large brick structure at left center. Wearing silver treaty badges around their necks and escorted by a delegation of colonist officials, the group heads towards the James River before returning to their villages. One of the Nottaways turns to have a last glance at a group of African slaves headed to the outlying fields.
