When I saw the bizarre macaroni & cheese restaurant, I knew this was a cool neighborhood. The Delmar Loop is the trendy, walkable neighborhood in St. Louis, with funky record shops, a pin-up bowling alley and a walk of fame.
The long lines are worth the wait at Ted Drewes Frozen Custard in St. NOT to be missed - "The Cardinal Sin" which is vanilla ice cream with cherries and hot fudge, a tribue to St. Louis' strong Catholic heritage AND love of good food, of course.
Grant's Farm, historic home of Ulysses S Grant plantation, now a wonderful interactive zoo/farm, with free beers in the lunch garden The Clydesdales. Another FREE venue, but you have to pay for parking.
