Top 10 Horror Films of the 1950s

Horror - "The Fly" - 1958 (was a popular movie) Vincent Price (loved him) A man, a fly, and don't try this at home!

The Thing. This movie scared the hell out of me when I first watched it as a kid, and it still creeps me out now that I'm supposedly grown up. The sheer 'aloneness' of the film's location is a large part of the creepiness, but the real culprit is the stomach-ripping what-ever-it-is that can infect man or beast and perfectly mimic their natural traits. It's got some pretty funny moments, too.

The Thing (1982)

THE THING - Scientists in the Antarctic are confronted by a shape-shifting alien that assumes the appearance of the people that it kills. This film blew my mind the first time I watched it!

In the early there was an infamous triple bill called Orgy of the Living Dead frequenting drive-ins around the US, the TV commercial featuring an unfortunate patron now in a strait-jacket after viewing all three

This is a very messed up movie with what could be Vincent Price's most diabolical performance!

Depp is brilliant and Masterson is masterful--a great flick to watch again and again. (Aidan Quinn ain't so bad, either.)
