The "Fire Lizard": The name "salamander" is derived from Greek for "fire lizard," as they were once believed to be able to walk through fire.

And all this time I thought "axolotl" was just a MAD Magazine word. It's a swimmy critter that apparently also does gymnastics. And it's cute. :)
