In the living room of a house in California wine country, designer Stephen Shubel painted the stone fireplace and Currey & Company's Rainforest chandelier a powdery white, and the walls and ceiling in a pale gray. Painted stone can look good, I guess.
I like the upper mantel idea. The dark floor, dark wooden coffee table top and dark stone in the fireplace pull this room together. White walls, white slanted beam ceiling and doors going to the outside make this a great looking room.
I chose this picture to represent the triadic colour scheme because it contains yellow, red and blue. The square pillow is yellow-green, the striped pillow is red-orange, the side table is blue-green and the flowers are orange-yellow.
