Quake Lake and Hebgen Lake, Montana--very close to west yellowstone. Interesting geology spot. 1959 earthquake caused a big landslide onto a campground killing 28 people. The landslide blocked the river creating a lake that's full of the dead trees that were there before the lake was. There's a spot to stop and read about the earth quake and you can see the scar on the side of the mountain where the landslide came from. Hebgen is next to quake lake and is a popular fishing spot.
Rescuers in Nepal searched frantically April 26, 2015, for survivors of a quake that killed more than 2,000, digging through rubble in the devastated capital Kathmandu and airlifting victims of an avalanche at Everest base camp.
