The colors of sunset reflect off snow, creating this beautiful shot from Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. Christian Schaffer snapped this pic a few months ago when the park’s snowpack was over 8 feet high. Of the experience, she says, “It was so incredibly beautiful and also incredibly cold -- all of our electronics died while we were out there except my one camera battery. The cold was worth it though; one of the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen.” Photo courtesy of Christian Schaffer
Crater Lake - Oregon, There are no rivers flowing into or out of the lake; the evaporation is compensated for by rain and snowfall at a rate such that the total amount of water is replaced every 250 years
