Earthquakes are one of the most catastrophic natural occurrences that can affect humans. They have been responsible for countless deaths, trillions of dollars in property damage, and have even triggered more destructive mudslides and tsunamis.
Before monsoons begins each year, the village of Balgoan in Nepal stockpile #food for about two months because landslides make passage to and from the village impossible. When the earthquake hit, the people there lost much of their food stocks. #CARE is providing them with much needed rice and lentils. Photo - Lucy Beck/CARE
A massive magnitude earthquake has struck Nepal less than 50 miles from the capital, Kathmandu. People were killed and injured. Historic buildings in Kathmandu had tumbled to the ground. Avalanches at mount Everest.
The recent #Nepal earthquake destroyed many homes and took away loved ones from many who survive. In the picture, Gyanu Thapa, 38 years old cooks for her family of five amidst the rubble of her house. Her generosity of spirit still intact, she offers her maggi to whoever comes to see the devastation. Help the earthquake survivors. Every small bit of help matters.
