Sedlec Ossuary in Poland.  Church with tribute sculptures made from bones of black plague victims.  (there are many "bone churches" throughout Europe after the Black Plague).   People actually made pilgrimages to die there because someone bought back a jar of dirt from Palestine and used it to consecrate the ground.  Fascinating stuff.
