Saint Jerome was another important Latin Father when it came to influencing Christianity in the west. After having a dream, in which Jesus appeared, he helped spread Christianity by translating the old and new testament into Latin. He also created the Latin Vulgate, which became the standard edition of the Bible.

During his lifetime, Jerome created one of the world's most famous libraries of his time, copying most of the books himself. His translation of the OT Bible from Hebrew is known as the Vulgate.
