ARTS & CRAFTS ~ Asilomar Conference Grounds Monterey Peninsula's Asilomar State Beach is home to the Asilomar Conference Grounds, a perfect example of the Arts and Crafts architecture style. The buildings on the grounds were designed from the inside out, with special attention dedicated to craftsmanship and detailed design. The use of local stone and wood is prominent, while the floor plans are open and airy, with exposed beams, large porches, and fireplaces centering almost every room.
