Africa| Wodaabe woman (aka Bororo) only Fulbe group to preserve the ancient nomadic tradition. Earrings made from the rare and unusual Talhakimt pendants. These are Bohemian glass trade beads manufactured to imitate earlier stone and metal currency objects of the Tuareg's of the northern Sahara. They are likely to have been produced in the late 1800s to early 1900s. Photo taken in Chadawanka village, Niger by Eliot Elisofon, in 1971.
