THIS.  Even looking at the photo brings a lump to my throat. If you grew up on Long Island, My Father's Place was THE place for live music, top acts. I saw too many to count - great shows: (yeah, so now I'm counting) Robert Palmer, Sea Level, Tower of Power - the club hosted everything, rock, folk, blues, funk. It was THE place to be and I miss it.

My Father’s Place (Roslyn): LI’s premier music club whose acts included a pre-Born to Run Bruce Springsteen, one of the first U. concerts by reggae legend Bob Marley, the LI debut by the Ramones and early gigs from some LI kid named Billy Joel.
