From much inspiration directly from this site, I decided I needed a real welding/fab table and stop working on the garage floor. Picked up 40' of 1.5" 11 gauge and some 1" 11 gauge drops in 28" lengths as scrap from my local steel supplier. Also picked up two pieces of 24"x36" expanded metal and a 28" x 48" piece of 1/4" cold rolled plate. Table top sticks out 3" all around for clamping.
