Georges Seurat's La Tour Eiffel, 1889 @ the Fine Arts Museum in SF. Oh, I didn't know this one was in San Fran. I should have visited it when I was up there. Seurat is best known for Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, 1886, which I have seen at the Chicago Art Institute. It's a really big painting. I like this piece more because of its simplicity. You can really appreciate the pointillism and what colors he uses to generate a sense of light and shadow.
