The record coin sports a profile of the Australian kangaroo on one side and Queen Elizabeth II on the other; measuring 80 centimeters wide and more than 12 centimeters deep, the stunning coin weighs over a ton and cost $57.34 million according to the current price of gold.
The 2017 Australian Kangaroo 1oz Gold Coin features a kangaroo bounding across the outback plain. Inscribed upon the reverse of the coin is ‘AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO’, the year-date, weight and fineness.
