A photograph entitled 'Young train spotter at station with the ghost train in background', taken in April 1962 by an unknown photographer for the Daily Herald. The train in the photograph is the D0260 'Lion', built in 1962 by the Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Company. 13 year old Michael Spooner had spotted the 'ghost train' on its trial run from Birmingham to Shrewsbury.
