love the idea of a low wrap-around storage unit in an open floor plan - it helps to create an additional element of seperation between spaces while adding valuable storage all while not adding clutter to the floor plan.
We have this big beautiful formal living room kids’ playroom in our house. Immediatly after we moved in, I found this great picture of a family media center. I thought these white expedit bookshelves from Ikea would look great against our gray walls. I was also inspired by this comfy bench … by Reah
Family/Dining room turned into playroom. Pictures of our son with family members who live long distance hang above the play kitchen. The art corner provides storage area & highest shelf contains items only accessible to me & are used under my supervision (i.e. glue, scissors, play-doh). A white shelving unit is used in a lackadaisical Montessori-style with the top being open & the bottom containing blocks, Legos, matchbox cars, etc. Above it, a chicken-wire frame is used to display artwork.
