I’m a bit of a romantic, so this book piqued my interest from the title alone. The story is about a Jewish girl who, with her family, fled Nazi Germany and, eventually, France, prior to and during World War II. When she left France for Cuba, she left behind a Catholic Frenchman she loved and had promised to marry.   The story is told from her daughter’s perspective as she retraces her mother’s steps and tries to figure out what became of the Frenchman. (adult non-fiction)

This is probably the best book about these three cousins that I've ever read.  I really covers the events and family relations that lead up to World War I - which would eventually lead to World War II.  A great read!
