The restaurant & bar – in the capital's old town – is called Caru cu Bere, which translates as 'brewer's dray' or indeed, beer cart. Beautiful place - their own beer is good (I'm told, not being a beery expert) and the 19th century building is atmospheric and architecturally delightful, with vaulted ceilings like a gothic church, tiles and carved wood everywhere. People who know some of Liverpool's more ornate Victorian pubs will feel entirely at home here.
